This is another book in the set that surveys Australian contemporary painting. It is published in the UK by Thames & Hudson (although I'm sure they also have offices in Sydney or Melbourne) unlike 759.994 CHA which is published in Australia. The book is organised into a long alphabetical list of artists, a bit like an encyclopedia, but with more impactful image use. I suppose this is an attempt to flatten the landscape of artists, by not categorising them by identity or other characteristics (an issue that Gordon Bennett brought up1) though still including specific details about the artists. It does read a little too much like a directory.

Scan of the first painting the book used as a full bleed detail after the contents listing.
